Meet Angela Blass
Hi my name is Angela Blass.
The first time I’ve ever held a microphone was in the basement of our home in Fresno, California at the tender age of 6 when my dad would force me and my brothers and sisters to practice. He’s not here to force me to practice anymore, but I do it freely and with great gratitude to him for believing in me before I even knew I could sing. I started singing on stage, in church believe it or not, at age 11 then started up a Hmong band with my brothers, sisters and church buddies at age 15, called Whyteshadows. We recorded 4 albums of which the fourth titled You Are The One sold over 8,000 copies in the U.S. Though I loved my band they were more hip hop and I was more rock and roll, so I took a chance and left the band to do my own thing; I was 21. I didn’t find a band but did find a guitar player who liked the same music, so we did acoustic sets for coffee houses and bookstores of which included Starbucks and Borders; where I performed covers by: Jewel, Heart, Sarah McLachlan, Eva Cassidy, to The Pretenders and more. Finally at age 23 we formed a four-piece (guitar, drums, bass and vocals) rock band called Liquid Butterfly. We recorded our first single, “Alone”, which I wrote, but it was never properly promoted. We played bars and local clubs in Fresno. By age 25, I wanted a bigger playing field so I moved to Las Vegas, NV where I’ve played in local clubs, lounges, bars and private parties. Anywhere I could, really.
So, I'll bet you’re wondering how I ended up in the backwoods of Pennsylvania. Well, you can thank my husband for that. We met in California, he was there working for six months then chose to return. He asked me to go east with him and here I am. I thought I was done with music, but what can I say, it’s in my blood, so I went searching on the net for other’s like me - - - then, in came John Trallo. Even with the vast difference in our backgrounds and cultures, we are alike in matters of heart and music, so here we are. We are... "Oracle"
*John and I (aka: "Oracle") are now performing locally as well as collaborating on an album of original music to be released later this year on CD and downloadable mp3 format.
